lingering illness....

Since my last post all 3 of my babies have been sick.  To say I'm ready for this sickness to leave our home is an understatement. This.momma.is.over.it.

Glory woke up with fever last Friday morning and had to miss school.  She ran fever all day Saturday but that was it for her.  I love taking pictures of my kids when they are sick.  I know that sounds mean and maybe morbid or something, but they are great subjects when ill because they are STILL!!!  And they usually have such a sweet innocence about them when they are sick, which makes for great photographs.   Here's Glory on her sick day.  I believe my children have the best lips...very kissable.  

Daylee had her turn with the fever on Wednesday.  This little gal is a little different than her big sister when she's sick.  I basically have to threaten her to get her to rest!  She kept telling me all day that she wasn't sick and that she was "helfy"!  I did capture some photos of her though watching a show.  She later fell asleep in this same spot!  That evening when I told her she couldn't go to church she cried saying..."But I promise not to get anyone else sick, momma!"  It was super sad and sweet to say the least.  Again with the lips...I just wanna kiss 'em!

On Thursday, Daylee woke up fever free!!!  I was so excited because Greyson seemed to be ok and we were all on our way to normalcy.  I ran some errands that morning and then Greyson took a nap.  When he woke up my excitement dwindled...Grey was now running fever.  NO FUN!!!  No fun at all. I was hoping for a short lived freak fever like the girls had but it's Sunday now and he's still running fever.  James noticed last night that Grey is cutting a molar which could be his source of fever but you never know.  I took this pic of him on my phone.  He's still super sweet and smiley when he's sick.  Thank goodness!  Those lips!!!  

So today we treat the fever and hope it's gone tomorrow.  Wish me luck, y'all!

The Etheridge kidddzzzzz!

Makaela contacted me before Christmas to take some photos of her and her twin brothers.  She wanted to surprise her mom and her dad for their Christmas gift.  I thought that was such a sweet idea.  These three made this shoot easy.  Super.Cute.Sweet.Kids!  Enjoy!

When my #1 was born I learned of my love for photography.  Over these past six years I have taken probably a million photos! NO JOKE!  Most of the photos I take are of my 3 kiddos but I also do shoots for others.  When I take a photo I then go into my Lightroom program and edit the photo.  This is my creative outlet most days...it keeps me sane.  I have basically taught myself how to use my camera and how to use the editing program (thanks to googling for tutorials).  Most of my documenting on this blog will be in photo form, hope that's ok CUZ that's.what.I.do!  

For Christmas James got me a new lens for my camera!  I cried, y'all!  It was such a surprise.  I'm still learning how to use it and find it's sweet spot.  Here are some recent shots I took with it!

Here is Daylee and Greyson playing in the living room the other day.  They are a lot of fun to watch!

Since birth I have been jealous of his eyelashes.  It's.not.fair!

These last photos were taken with a different lens.  I will most likely go back and forth between the two.  The one I used in these shots is good for low light settings...mostly indoors if it's not bright outside.  These were taken at sunset and with this lens you can't really tell!

Daylee is my "I can fall asleep anywhere baby!" and I love it.  Makes for some great shots!

Glory had a sick day yesterday.  She woke up with a fever...and still has one today.  No church for us tomorrow :(  

I'm a bloggin' again!

And...I'm...BACK!!!  

I have decided to start blogging once again and just for fun I'm starting completely OVER!  I have another blog thegilbertstory.blogspot.com if you would like to check it out.  It's been almost 2 years since I blogged there.  So much has happened in 2 years and it makes me super sad that I haven't documented it.  I will attempt to catch up on here sometime but for now, I'll start present day!
